Cafes have been dominating all over Penang. The Basil Le Bistrot in particular, shines out of the others with their delicious food and coffee. The food is rather reasonable with the extensive choise of food made available. As you step into the cafe, you will definetely notice the light bulbs and exposed pipes on the ceiling. The ambience is rather quiet and relaxing. A good spot for a catch up session with your friends.
在檳城最近都開了超多咖啡館。Basil Le Bistrot 是其中一間我覺得不錯的。他們的設計都挺不錯的。環境也非常寧靜。如果想要跟朋友一起敘舊，這是不錯的選擇。
For starters, we opted for the "Veloute of Roma Tomato" and the "Cream of Mushroom Soup". Both served with two slices of warm and crunchy baguettes which were great to compliment the soup. The mushroom soup was creamy and contained bits of mushrooms to add to the creamy texture. From the taste you can tell that the mushrooms have been sauteed prior to being added to the soup. The tomato soup on the other hand, was simply delicious. The aroma of the tomatoes even before you take the first sip. The flavours just simply burst into your taste buds.
我們試了他們的番茄湯和蘑菇湯。而湯都附送了兩塊又暖又脆的法國麵包。蘑菇湯裡都會吃到一粒粒的蘑菇。他們的番茄湯超好吃的。
As for the main course, we had the "Pan-Seared Wild Seabass" and the "Pork Loin". For the seabass, the dish was a little too oily and the fish was a little overcook. But overall, it was flavourful and nice. When the pork loin was served onto the table, it didn't look very impressive. But as you take the first bite into the pork loin, the flavours just burst into your mouth. The texture, not too chewy and not too soft. Just cooked to perfection.
至於主菜，我們選擇了鱸魚和豬裡脊肉。鱸魚有點太油了，而且魚肉有點太熟了。當服務員送上豬裡脊肉時，賣相並不是很吸引。可是當你咬下第一口時，口感QQ的。煮得剛剛好。
Nothing impressive on the coffee though. The proportion of the coffee and milk was a little off but it was still ok.
他們的咖啡還好。咖啡和牛奶的比例還差了一點。可是還不錯。
Overall, the food was good and is one of the cafes that stand out among the others. I would definetely come back for the food. Especially the tomato soup.
